Ha long
Ha Long is the capital city of Quang Ninh province, Vietnam.
The city is named after Ha Long Bay, the bay is located south of the city and is a famous natural heritage of Vietnam. The name "Ha Long" (in Chinese: 下 龍) means "the flying dragon".
Ha Long City was established on December 27, 1993 on the basis of the entire area and population of the old Hong Gai town [1]. On October 10, 2013, the city was recognized as a class I city. On January 1, 2020, after merging with Hoanh Bo district, Ha Long became a city in the province with the largest area in Vietnam.
